Harborline Boat & Yacht Sales is a Connecticut-based brokerage focused on power and sail, offering personalized service and professional marketing. We seek one or two Associate Yacht Brokers who are deeply embedded in the Long Island Sound boating community and ready to grow with Harborline.
This role emphasizes relationship-building, listings development, and end-to-end brokerage support. Compensation is commission-based, rewarding your own listings, buyers, and Harborline-driven opportunities,
Harborline Boat & Yacht Sales is a newly launched Connecticut-based boat and yacht brokerage serving Connecticut, Long Island Sound and Southern New England. We represent both power and sail, with a focus on knowledgeable representation, professional marketing, straightforward communication and personal service.
We are selectively looking for one or two Associate Yacht Brokers to grow with Harborline.
This is not an entry-level marine sales position, and it is not a traditional job where a salesperson waits for the company to provide a steady stream of leads. We are looking for a true go-getter who is already deeply involved in the Connecticut and Southern New England boating community and knows how to develop relationships, find listings, work with buyers and close business.
The right person may already be active around yacht clubs, marinas, boatyards, racing programs, fishing communities, marine businesses or other parts of the Long Island Sound boating community. They should be someone people know, trust and are comfortable calling when they are thinking about buying or selling a boat.
Harborline is deliberately being built as a smaller, relationship-driven brokerage rather than a high-volume sales organization. We care much more about adding the right person than simply adding brokers.
We are especially interested in someone who is already deeply engrained in the Long Island Sound boating community.
Strong candidates will likely have significant boating knowledge and an established network in Connecticut and Southern New England. That experience might come from yacht brokerage, marine sales, marina or boatyard operations, professional or competitive sailing, fishing, yacht-club involvement, chartering, vessel operations or another part of the recreational marine industry.
You do not necessarily need to come from a large yacht brokerage. You do need to understand boats, people and relationships.
The ability to generate business is important. A successful Harborline broker should be comfortable calling a boat owner, walking a dock, attending a yacht-club event, following up on a referral, approaching a potential listing and staying in touch with buyers over time.
Professionalism is equally important. Harborline clients should feel that their broker knows the boating world, communicates clearly, follows through and is representing their interests properly.
Experience with both power and sail is welcome, but a strong specialty in either one is perfectly acceptable.
A USCG credential, CPYB certification or other marine qualifications are valuable but are not required if the candidate brings substantial industry knowledge, relationships and experience.
This is intended to be a commission-based contract position rather than a salaried employee role.
Compensation will be based on the broker’s involvement in each transaction, including factors such as who generated the listing, who generated the buyer, whether another brokerage is involved and whether the opportunity originated with Harborline or the Associate Broker.
The structure is designed to reward brokers who develop their own listings and buyers while also providing opportunities to participate in Harborline-generated business.
The specific commission structure will be discussed confidentially with qualified candidates before any agreement is entered into.
There is no guaranteed salary, draw or traditional employee benefits associated with the position.
Harborline is at the beginning of what we intend to build into a respected Southern New England brokerage.
For the right person, this position could grow into considerably more than simply selling individual boats.
Someone who helps build Harborline, generates meaningful business, develops strong client relationships and becomes an important part of the company may have opportunities for increased responsibility, leadership, business development and a larger role within Harborline as the brokerage grows.
We are not promising a particular title or future position. We are saying that someone who helps us build the company will have the opportunity to grow with it.
Harborline Boat & Yacht Sales was founded by Captain Bill Wiggins, a USCG 100-Ton Master with decades of experience in sailing, offshore racing, vessel operations, marine business and marina operations.
Harborline serves power and sailboat owners throughout Connecticut and Southern New England. Listings are marketed through major marine marketplaces including YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com, along with Harborline’s social channels and marketing network.
Our philosophy is simple: know boats, know the market, communicate honestly and take care of the client.
If that approach sounds like you — and you already have meaningful relationships throughout the Long Island Sound boating community — we would like to hear from you.
This is a selective search. Fit, reputation, boating knowledge and the ability to develop business will matter more than the number of resumes we receive.
