Job summary

Toyota Material Handling U.S.A., Inc. in Columbus, Indiana, is hiring a full-time Welder to join the on-site assembly team. The role focuses on welding quality and productivity to TMH standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include applying MIG welding as the primary technique, performing gas cutting and finishing, inspecting joints, and using industrial grinders as needed. A high school diploma or GED and TMH welding certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete and pass TMH's weld certification process.
• Must possess knowledge of flammable materials.
• Experience or knowledge in spot and robot welding is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of welding operations through knowledge and training of welding techniques
• Continually operate in a safe manner by always following Toyota Material Handling's (TMH) safe practices
• Utilize MIG welding style as primary weld technique
• Perform gas cutting and finishing, along with joint leakage checks as necessary
• Utilize industrial tools to grind metal parts as part of the forklift assembly process. Materials may vary in thickness and size
• Maintain quality standards of welding and setup
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• Additional duties as assigned

The work for this position is very physical in nature with repetitive tasks. This means it is fast paced; you must be detail oriented. You must be able to stoop, bend, twist, turn, squat, reach, push, pull, grab or grasp. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 44 pounds.

Primary environment for this position is a warehouse/ factory environment. The Toyota shop floor is not climate controlled and internal temperatures will be relative to the external temperatures and temperature forecasts.
