Job summary

Toyota Heavy Duty in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Parts Inspector to join our team. You will inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards, collaborating with a dynamic team to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience, strong attention to detail, and solid communication skills. In-person, weekdays 6:30 am–3:00 pm, with competitive benefits and extensive training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and measure parts using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Read labels, tags, identification plates, and stenciled markings to ensure items correspond with requirements.
• Examine products for surface defects, weld size, weld dimensions, and other quality concerns.
• Compare units with shipping orders to verify the correct accessories are present.
• Perform root cause analysis as required and develop appropriate countermeasures.
• Develop and implement quality standards.
• Facilitate product improvements through reports, quality alerts, audits, and other quality initiatives.
• Assist the Warranty Department with product and Sales Order information as required.
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, identifying products requiring rework, and confirming completed rework.
• Document inspection results by completing required reports and logs.
• Operate hand and power tools, along with a variety of equipment and measuring instruments.
• Prepare products for final delivery to customers, including cleaning and verifying Bills of Material.
• May operate material-moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and bridge cranes.
• Inspect outsourced parts for quality and conformance.

Where and When You’ll Work:

• This is an in-person role, located at our East Chicago, IN facility, which is ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
• Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
