Good Inside in New York City seeks an Associate Video Editor to turn raw podcast footage into engaging videos for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and podcast platforms. You’ll join the in-house studio, work with production and content teams, and move from rough cut to final across multiple formats.

We value strong technical fundamentals, a growing storytelling instinct, and the ability to cut for performance data.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years editing experience in creator/media/digital-first channels.
• A reel showing range across long-form and short-form content.
• Proficiency in industry-standard video and audio editing software (Adobe Premiere).
• Growing storytelling instinct: know what to keep, what to cut and where energy drops.
• Experience cutting interview content.
• Bonus: YouTube retention know-how and thumbnail design.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form and short-form video from rough cut to final, keeping viewers watching to the end.
• Collaborate with Manager, Studio and Executive Producer, Podcasts on story, pacing and structure.
• Handle audio mixing, color correction, captioning and motion graphics.

The Opportunity

Video is increasingly how parents find Good Inside. We’re seeking an Associate Video Editor to turn raw footage into videos parents watch to the end, across YouTube, podcasts, social, app content and partner work. This role will specifically work across Good Inside’s podcast portfolio.

This is a high-impact role on our growing in-house studio team. You’ll work closely with our production and content teams to turn every podcast shoot into finished videos, from rough cut to final, and cut them for every platform we publish on. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your story instincts alongside experienced editors and learn how performance data makes each video better than the last.

We’re looking for an editor with strong technical fundamentals and a growing story instinct, who loves every part of the craft, from pacing and structure to color, sound and captions, and wants to keep getting better. If you want your work to reach millions of parents, this role is for you.

This is a hybrid role and requires 3 days per week in our Midtown Manhattan office.

What You’ll Own

• Edit long-form and short-form video from rough cut to final keeping viewers watching to the end.
• Work closely with our Manager, Studio and Production and Executive Producer, Podcasts, taking direction on story, pacing and structure and building your editorial judgment with every episode.
• Handle audio mixing, color correction, captioning and motion graphics, building toward full ownership of finishing and craft.
• Cut platform-specific versions for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok from a single shoot.
• Turn around notes quickly and cleanly.
• Join the team’s performance reviews and learn how data shapes the next edit.
• Ingest, sync and manage dailies so footage stays organized and easy to find.

Your Skills & Experience

• 2-5 years of editing experience, ideally for a creator, media brand or digital-first channel.
• A reel that shows range across long-form and short-form content.
• Proficiency in industry-standard video and audio editing software (Adobe Premiere preferred).
• A growing story instinct: you’re developing a feel for what to keep, what to lose and where the energy drops, and you welcome feedback.
• Experience cutting interview content.
• Bonus: YouTube retention know-how (hooks, chapters, where viewers drop off) and thumbnail design.
