Job summary

Petco is seeking a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our Vetco Total Care hospital in Florida. The veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical care, perform surgeries and dentistry, and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient.

The role emphasizes collaborative teamwork, communication with clients, and coordination with referral partners to ensure seamless patient care. A DEA license and USDA accreditation are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active license to practice in the state where the hospital is located.
• DEA license or ability to obtain.
• USDA accreditation or ability to obtain within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care through examinations, diagnoses, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal surgeries, and mass removals.
• Perform dental procedures including dental examinations and extractions.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate patient care with referral hospitals as needed.
