Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school and active license required.
• DEA license and Controlled Substance license required or obtainable by start date.
• USDA accreditation or plan to complete within two months of hire.
• Ability to perform anesthesia and routine surgeries (spays, dentals, removals).
• Strong communication skills and compassionate, professional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care through examinations, diagnoses, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgeries including spays/neuters, abdominal explorations, and mass removals.
• Perform routine and complex dental procedures and radiographs.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospital care and coordinate with referral hospitals.
• Participate in rounds and disseminate knowledge to staff.
• Maintain high standards of care and teamwork.

Education

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree

Active veterinary licensure (state)

Current DEA license

Current Controlled Substance License

USDA Category I Accreditation

Comfort with anesthesia and routine surgeries
