Job summary

MedPro Group, a Berkshire Hathaway insurance company, seeks an entry-level associate underwriter to support underwriting teams with data entry, client service, and policy issuance. You will maintain a small LPL book and assist other underwriters as needed.

You will analyze risks, propose pricing structures, and communicate with internal teams to meet MedPro Group’s client-focused standards, with travel to support partners as required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; able to learn company systems.
• Insurance or office experience is a plus.
• Additional insurance-focused education is a plus.

In this role, you will…

• Assume the role and duties of an entry-level associate underwriter, supporting underwriting teams by multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform data entry, client service, as well as policy and endorsement issuance.
• Maintain a small book of LPL business with guidance from more experienced underwriters and assists other underwriters as needed.
• Underwrite and analyze LPL risks; offer appropriate underwriting solutions for clients while focusing on profitability as determined by the company.
• Use all available underwriting information to meet and exceed client expectations with timely turnaround and delivery of appropriate pricing and insurance structure.
• Engage and maintain excellent communication with internal team members; meet and deliver MedPro Group’s standards of obsessive client focus to each AttPro client.
• Perform risk analysis including (but not limited to), coverage evaluation, as well as terms and conditions of offer; apply risk analysis to determine appropriate structure and pricing, seeking authority approval and guidance from more experienced underwriters.
• Travel with experienced underwriter or market management, providing support as the key contact for assigned distribution partners; work to address concerns and needs, identify opportunities for new business growth, and retain existing business across all business segments.
• Establish and maintain excellent communication with internal team members, including Market Management, Claims, and Finance; collaborate with them to identify opportunities and strategies to increase new business writings and retain existing customers.
• Exhibit proficiency on AttPro’s underwriting systems, forms, procedures, and underwriting standards.
• Work within authority and understand escalation requirements within the company.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with…

• BA/BS in business or related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and be able to learn various company systems to a high level of competence.
• Previous experience in insurance or office environment desired.
• Additional education in insurance preferred.
