Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking an Associate Engineer in Dallas, TX to provide entry-level engineering support on high-voltage transmission design projects. Responsibilities include modeling, foundation design, and coordination across tasks, with opportunities to contribute to planning, permitting, and procurement efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and offers growth in HV engineering, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required).
• EI/EIT certification (preferred).
• 1+ years of related transmission line engineering experience (preferred).
• Experience with NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI design codes.
• Ability to prepare thorough technical reports and sketches.
• Ability to work safely and follow regulations.
• Self-starter in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
• Pass drug screen, background check, and driving record per policy.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand design criteria.
• Build design models using PLS software suite.
• Develop and analyze foundation designs (e.g. FAD, FD6, APile, LPile).
• Spot structures and evaluate clearance and utilization in PLS-CADD.
• Evaluate design alternatives and provide commentary.
• Run reports in PLS-CADD (Structure Checks, Stringing Charts).
• Compose work packages and release letters.
• Produce estimates of man-hours and completion dates.
• Manage multiple tasks for multiple projects.
