Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking an Associate Engineer to contribute to high-voltage transmission design projects. You will provide entry-level engineering support on overhead utility systems, including plan/profile development and coordination with survey teams.

The role involves creating design models in PLS-CADD, evaluating foundations, and preparing work packages while meeting safety and quality standards. A BS in engineering is required, with EI/EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• EI/EIT certification preferred.
• 1+ years of related transmission line engineering experience preferred.
• Experience using PLS-CADD for transmission line design is preferred.
• Familiarity with NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI codes.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand design criteria.
• Build design models using the PLS software suite.
• Develop and analyze foundation designs (e.g. FAD, FD6, APile, LPile).
• Spot structures and evaluate clearance and structural utilization in PLS-CADD.
• Evaluate and provide commentary on design alternatives.
• Run reports in PLS-CADD (Structure Checks, Stringing Charts).
• Compose work packages, release letters and more.
• Produce estimates of man-hours and completion dates for tasks.
• Manage multiple tasks across projects.
