Mexican American Opportunity Foundation in Monterey County is seeking an Associate Teacher/Teacher to provide direct care, guidance, and instruction to children at MAOF Child Care and Development Centers, promoting social, physical and intellectual growth in line with developmental stages.

This full-time role requires a valid Teacher Permit or Associate Teacher Permit from the CCTC, a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication with diverse families; prior preschool

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Teacher Permit from the CCTC.
• Must possess a valid Associate Teacher Permit from the CCTC.
• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• One year of classroom experience in preschool/childcare preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to relate to diverse families and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, guidance, and instruction to children in the MAOF centers.
• Instruct children in activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Job Summary

To provide direct care, guidance, and instruction to the children of the MAOF Child Care and Development Centers. To instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth that stimulates learning, according to the developmental stages of the children.

Qualifications

• Teacher - Must possess a minimum of a valid Teacher Permit from the CCTC.
• Associate Teacher - Must possess a minimum of a valid Associate Teacher Permit from the CCTC.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified.
• One(1) year of classroom paid experience or volunteer experience working in a pre-school/childcare setting, preferred.
• Ability to communicate, both oral and written
• Ability to speak, read and write English well enough to understand and be understood by others.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people including low-income families.
• Sensitive to others needs.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Sincere commitment to providing services to children and the community.
• Ability to assess and respond quickly to varied situations.
