Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to join the Design Team in developing innovative uncrewed systems for defense and commercial applications. You will work with design engineers to allocate requirements and execute system tests supporting customer needs, across lifecycle stages including concept and validation.

The role requires collaboration in small teams, strong problem solving, and the ability to handle diverse tasks from requirements to verification testing. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, CS, CE, EE, aero, mech, or related field; or equivalent
• 0–2 years of engineering design or development experience
• Ability to derive test requirements from product specs and modifications
• Ability to update and review test plans, procedures, and reports; document test failures; and report test results

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, allocate, and maintain system, subsystem, and interface requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Maintain bidirectional traceability among system and subsystem requirements, verification methods, and test results.
• Provide weekly updates to team leads on system development progress, including requirements burndown.
• Review and maintain ICDs and coordinate interface changes across cross-functional teams.
• Review and support the execution of test plans, procedures, and test cases for SIL, HIL, bench, integration, ground, and flight testing.
• Review system requirements documents for clarity, completeness, and testability.
• Ensure test assets are prepared, including hardware/software configuration, test cards, procedures, and equipment maintenance.
• Analyze test data to determine results; work with MATLAB/Excel for large data sets.
• Perform other duties as assigned
