Job description

Overview: VTG is seeking an Associate Systems Analyst to provide technical support to a Navy program office in Washington, DC. This Data Analyst is responsible for consolidating data across individual efforts to develop visualization reports, data models, and integration displays. This role will collaborate with program office staff to define requirements, develop efficient data-driven solutions, and support implementation. This is a hybrid role.

What will you do?

1. Designs and implements automated processes and solutions with a wide variety of data sets used for mining, analysis, modeling, and predicting to enable informed business decisions;
2. Identifies trends, aggregates data, and develops user-friendly reports in Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBi);
3. Applies statistical analysis techniques to examine, interpret, and validate data from multiple sources;
4. Collaborates across teams and with stakeholders to research and define requirements, develop business solutions, and conduct training;
5. Extracts and compiles information from various sources to evaluate data quality and identify anomalies;
6. Builds and documents data dictionaries, models, set and/or flows;
7. Develops information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance;
8. Creates solutions from initial concept to fully-tested production and demonstrates results;
9. Establishes process for monitoring, tracking, mapping, and reporting data;
10. Designs SharePoint solutions, pages, and lists/libraries.

Do you have what it takes?

Required skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline/field of study;
• Minimum six months of professional experience in data engineering or data analytics;
• Minimum six months of professional experience in data modeling, workflow design, and business analysis experience;
• Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization reporting systems;
• Understanding and ability to transform and integrate data sets across various applications such as SQL, Excel, and SharePoint;
• Demonstrated knowledge of advanced mathematical, statistical, querying, and reporting methods to streamline data processes;
• Must have active DoD Secret level clearance.

Preferred skills:

• Microsoft Certifications within the Power Platform, Azure, or other related Microsoft products;
• Strong customer communication and project management skills;
• Ability to work independently with some guidance.
