Job summary

FCC Behavioral Health in Doniphan, MO, seeks an Associate Substance Use Disorders Counselor to provide counseling to individuals with SUD in residential and outpatient settings.

You will guide treatment progress through each phase, work with a multidisciplinary team, and advocate for clients at both case and community levels while pursuing MAADC and CRADC credentials. This role requires adherence to professional standards and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or HiSet certificate required.
  • MAADC I credential within first 3 months of employment.
  • Progress to MAADC II by the end of year 2.
  • CRADC exam and certification by end of year 4.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services within 4 performance domains: Screening, Assessment & Engagement; Counseling; Treatment Planning, Collaboration & Referral; Professional, Ethical Responsibilities.
  • Provide Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, and Group Education as scheduled.
  • Advocate for person(s) served at case and community levels.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team staffing meetings.
  • Represent the agency in a caring and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate unconditional positive regard toward person(s) served.
  • Maintain a solution focused attitude and adhere to evidence-based practice models.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic criteria for SUD and/or mental disorders.
  • Communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the program operates within CARF/DMH standards and the agency's strategic plan.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Purpose

Provide counseling to individuals with a substance use disorder in a residential and/or outpatient setting. Facilitate an individual’s treatment progress while guiding them through each phase of their substance use disorder treatment.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of a High School diploma or HiSet certificate.
  • Either possess or have the ability to obtain the MAADC I credential within the first three months of employment.
  • Ability to progress through Associate Counselor Career Ladder and attain MAADC II by the end of second year of employment.
  • Ability to pass CRADC exam and attain CRADC certification by the end of the fourth year of employment.
