Job summary

South Central Mental Health Counseling CTR in El Dorado, KS is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor for a full-time position. Salary range is $50,000.00 to $70,000.00 annually. Must hold LCAC, LAC or LMAC and be license eligible in Kansas.

Responsibilities include conducting substance use assessments, delivering individual, group and family therapy, and collaborating with partners to ensure quality care. Regular attendance and credentialing efforts are required.

South Central Mental Health is currently recruiting a Substance Abuse Counselor. Must have LCAC, LAC or LMAC. The population we serve includes children, adults and families with diverse backgrounds and diagnoses. Must be license eligible in the state of Kansas.

Physical, Educational, and Personal Requirements

Physical: Hear, speak and write in English clearly. Vision adequate to observe clients and make chart entries.

Education: Defined by license type; see staff credentials.

Personal: Detail oriented, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and good problem-solving skills. Must be able to remain calm and professional when addressing clients.

Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency insurance guidelines as this position requires ability to drive to agency centers and local community partner sites in order to match the needs of consumers and the community. Reliable transportation is required. Must pass a criminal background and driver’s license check to the satisfaction of SCMH, KDADS and licensing agencies.
