Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Stress Engineer to perform structural analysis of aircraft structures, using classical and finite element methods to determine loads and stresses. You will document findings to demonstrate airworthiness and support aircraft modifications.

Based in Greenville, TX with a 9/80 schedule, the role partners with design engineers to ensure compliance and develop test data for strength margins.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Use classical hand analysis and/or finite element models to predict loads, displacements, and stresses.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to substantiate aircraft modifications and ensure airworthiness.
• Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
• Document structural analysis in formal reports showing compliance with airworthiness requirements.
• Develop structural tests and post-process results to establish allowable strength data.
• Manage personal work to stay within scope, budget, and schedule.
