Job summary

BCI Brands in New York is seeking an Associate Designer to work closely with the Design Director on the development of the line, from initial inspiration through final production. You will ensure alignment with market trends and the brand identity across the collection.

Qualifications include 3+ years in fashion design, garment construction knowledge, and proficiency in Centric PLM, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production.
• Communicate daily with sales and production to ensure design sheets are completed properly and in a timely manner.
• Create and execute on the vision of the Creative Director, ensuring product is consistent with market trends and brand identity.
• Develop design sheets in Centric PLM.
• Update reorder bodies with new ideas while incorporating upcoming trends.
• Source trims, prints and novelty fabrics with vendors.
• Choose matching linings.
• Set up new silhouettes in prints and new fabrications in the in-house sewing room.
• Support the head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line.
• Create inspiration boards.

The Associate Designer will work closely with the Design Director on the development of the line.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production

• Develop Design sheets in Centric PLM

• Source trims, prints and novelty fabrics with venders/In the market
• Choose matching linings
• Set up new silhouettes in prints and new fabrications in our in\u00a0in‑house sewing room to get cut and sewn
• Support the head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line
• Create inspiration boards

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of fashion design experience
• Knowledge of garment construction and patterns
• Must have experience with Centric PLM
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Self-starter and proactive worker
• Enthusiastic and team-oriented with sense of urgency
• Basic knowledge of Pattern construction would be great, but not required
• Must be fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Must be proficient in creating tech packs
• Must have a strong understanding of placement prints, including how to effectively layout prints within garment patterns to maximize fabric yield
• Experience working in Procreate would be great, but not required
• Must be able to sketch (Flats/Floats) in Procreate or Illustrator
• Learns quickly and eager to learn all parts of the industry
• Must have an eye for Merchandising, Assorting Fabrics/Garments accordingly

The salary range for this full-time role is dependent upon experience between $70,000 - $80,000.
