BCI Brands is seeking a Development Technical Designer to work with our design and product development team in bringing the initial line to life for market and providing production tech packs.

You will support the Design Director from concept to final production, create all tech packs, ensure samples meet specs, and collaborate with overseas and domestic factories to deliver on time while maintaining brand identity.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical designer experience in apparel, including garment construction and timelines for woven and cut-and-sew knits.
  • Experience making Tech Packs in PLM platforms is required.
  • Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and fabric construction.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • CLO 3-D experience is highly preferred.

Responsabilités

  • Support the Design Director with the design process from inspiration to production.
  • Create and manage initial tech-packs, measurement, construction, and production tech-packs.
  • Measure all samples to ensure they arrive on spec and as requested.
  • Communicate daily with overseas teams and coordinate with factories.
  • Create/update line sketches for each season and align with brand identity.

This role is for a Development Technical Designer and the candidate will work closely with our design and product development team to bring the initial line to life for market aswell as provide tech packs for production costing.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production
  • Responsible for initial tech-packs, measurement, construction, sample tech-packs and production tech-packs
  • Measure all samples to make sure they arrive on spec and as requested
  • Communicate daily with overseas teams
  • Work with overseas and domestic factories to get garments made correctly and on time
  • Create and execute on the vision of the Design Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brand identity and overall business strategy
  • Attend fittings with designer and take detailed notes
  • Create and update line sketches for each season as needed
  • 3+ years of technical designer experience in apparel industry (including garment construction experience and timelines for Woven’s + Cut and Sew Knits product categories.)
  • Experience making Tech Packs in PLM platforms is required
  • Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and technical knowledge of fabric and construction.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience working in CLO 3-D highly preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly with exceptional follow-up skill.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload and tasks
  • Strong work ethic, able to self-motivate, work with cross functional teams when necessary and make call outs that displays efficiency for the teams and future endeavors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.

The annual salary range for this full-time role is between $70,000 - $80,000 dependent on experience level.
