Job summary

BCI Brands is seeking an Associate Designer to work closely with the Design Director on developing the line. You will support from inspiration to production, coordinate with sales and production on design sheets, and help shape the brand identity while aligning with market trends.

The role requires strong design software skills (Photoshop, Illustrator), proficiency in Centric PLM, and a demonstrated ability to create tech packs and layout prints for optimal fabric yield. Portfolio is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of fashion design experience.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and patterns.
  • Must have experience with Centric PLM.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Must be proficient in creating tech packs.
  • Must have a strong understanding of placement prints, including how to effectively layout prints within garment patterns to maximize fabric yield.
  • Portfolio required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production.
  • Communicate daily with sales and production to ensure design sheets are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Create and execute on the vision of the Creative Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brand identity and overall business strategy.
  • Develop Design sheets in Centric PLM.
  • Update reorder bodies with new ideas while incorporating upcoming trends.
  • Source trims, prints and novelty fabrics with vendors in the market.
  • Choose matching linings.
  • Set up new silhouettes in prints and new fabrications in our in-house sewing room to get cut and sewn.
  • Support the head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line.
  • Create inspiration boards.

  • Must have a strong understanding of placement prints, including how to effectively layout prints within garment patterns to maximize fabric yield
  • Experience working in Procreate would be great, but not required
  • Must be able to sketch (Flats/Floats) in Procreate or IllustratorLearns quickly and eager to learn all parts of the industry
  • Must have an eye for Merchandising, Assorting Fabrics/Garments accordingly
  • Portfolio required.

The salary range for this full-time role is dependent upon experience between $70,000 - $80,000.
