Commonpoint Queens (Samuel Field YM and YWHA) is seeking an Associate Specialist, Data & Insights to support data collection, analysis, and reporting across the organization. You will help strengthen internal data systems, support cross-departmental projects, and prepare data workflows for survey rollouts, including trackers and dashboards.

You will assist in qualitative and quantitative research efforts, develop insight reports, and contribute to data-driven storytelling while collaborating

Qualifications

  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Ability to design surveys and support data workflows for rollouts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and dashboards.
  • Strong collaboration across departments and reporting to a coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing interviews and focus groups to gather program insights.
  • Support literature reviews and external research synthesis.
  • Participate in data analysis meetings and share findings.
  • Create insight reports and presentations translating data into actionable strategies.
  • Assist with survey development using JotForm and Google Forms.
  • Build and maintain dashboards using Tableau and Google Looker Studio.
  • Clean, structure, and audit data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop pivot tables and structured spreadsheets to track engagement and outcomes.
  • Explore AI-driven tools to improve workflow efficiency.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Specialist, Data & Insights supports data collection, analysis, and reporting across the organization. Reporting to the Coordinator, Data & Insights, the Associate Specialist helps strengthen internal data systems, supports cross-departmental projects, and prepares data workflows for survey rollouts, including the development of survey trackers and dashboards.

Research & Evaluation Projects
  • Assist in designing and conducting interviews and focus groups to gather insights on program impact.
  • Support literature reviews and external research synthesis to inform evaluation efforts.
  • Participate in data analysis meetings, contributing to discussions on findings and trends.
  • Help build insight reports and presentations that translate data into actionable strategies.
Qualitative Research & Impact Storytelling
  • Collect and analyze qualitative data from surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Learn how to code and categorize qualitative data to identify key themes.
  • Assist in writing impact reports and case studies, helping to craft compelling data-driven narratives.
  • Support survey development using tools like JotForm and Google Forms, ensuring strong survey design.
  • Compare and contrast findings across different programs to identify shared trends and opportunities.
Quantitative Research & Data Visualization
  • Analyze survey data and other program metrics to uncover trends and insights.
  • Assist in building interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau and Google Looker Studio.
  • Learn how to clean, structure, and audit data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop pivot tables and structured spreadsheets to track participant engagement and outcomes.
  • Explore AI-driven tools for automation and analysis to improve workflow efficiency.

  • Participate in ongoing personal and professional growth activities to build skills and align with evolving department needs.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental trainings, team meetings, and cross-program learning opportunities.
  • Actively engage in the supervision process, including goal-setting, reflection, and feedback.
  • Participate in agency-wide events, initiatives, and committees as assigned, contributing to a culture of learning, equity, and service.
  • Assist with any other projects as needed.
