Job summary

enGen, based in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a software engineer to contribute to scalable, enterprise-grade applications across digital channels. You will design specifications, write robust code, and participate in agile ceremonies to deliver features end-to-end.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in CS/CE and hands-on experience with modern languages and web services. You will collaborate with senior engineers, perform code reviews, and mentor juniors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• 1 year proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in scalable, highly available systems.
• 1 year of experience in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica) and with at least two of: React, Angular, NodeJS, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• 1 year understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON.

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and programs.
• Write code that adheres to coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and complete sprints from idea to production.
• Create stories with DoD, Acceptance Criteria, estimation; manage tasks in RTC or Jira.
• Monitor production schedule and report issues or technical difficulties to senior staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
