Job summary

Prime Medicine is seeking an Associate Scientist/Engineer II to join the RNA chemistry team. You will support development, optimization, and tech transfer of manufacturing processes for Prime Editing, working across Research, Technical Development, Supply Chain, and Quality to advance the pipeline.

The role requires hands‑on experience with process development and manufacturing of RNA guides for IND‑enabling programs in a GMP environment, with strong communication and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in biotechnology, engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or related life science.
  • 3+ years (BS) or 1+ years (MS) of relevant biotech/biopharma experience is preferred.
  • Experience with GMP manufacturing environments and SOP/draft batch records is a plus.
  • Experience with oligonucleotide synthesis or downstream purification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with JMP or similar statistical software for process analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform solid‑phase chemical synthesis of long guide RNA and downstream purification including chromatography, TFF and lyophilization at different scales.
  • Collaborate with team to discuss findings and integrate into process design for manufacturing.
  • Manufacture IND‑enabling and GLP/GMP RNA guides to support Prime Editing programs as part of the chemistry team.
  • Author technical reports, SOPs, draft batch records, and regulatory submission sections.
  • Present data in written and oral form at cross‑functional meetings.
  • Maintain lab instruments (ÄKTA systems, HPLC, TFF skids) in good condition.
  • Apply AI tools in CMC work to improve processes.
