Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Glenview, IL is seeking an Assoc Scientist, R&D - Product Development to lead initiatives across Core Snacking categories. You will develop and commercialize new products, renovate existing lines, review ingredients, and drive cost savings while collaborating with Packaging R&D, Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Sales.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of food chemistry, analytical testing, formulations and processing used in food manufacturing.
• Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients, process, and packaging.
• Good communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to travel 30%.
• Internship or Co-op Experience in the food or consumer products industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commercialize products; renovate existing products; review ingredients; deliver cost savings across Snacking Category.
• Collaborate with Packaging R&D, Consumer Experience, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, Project Management, Marketing, and Sales to drive projects to meet business objectives.
• Lead prototype development, cost evaluations, factory trials, product specifications, and labeling.
• Coordinate cross-functional tastings, sensory evaluations, and system setups for new ingredients and finished goods.
• Conduct risk and feasibility assessments and manage multiple assignments with guidance.
