Job summary
KCAS Bio, a fast-growing contract research organization in Kansas City, seeks an Associate Scientist for the Mass Spectrometry Bioanalysis Production group. You will perform sample preparation, LC-MS/MS analysis, data processing, and regulatory documentation under supervision to support regulated studies in drug discovery and development.
Qualifications include a Bachelors or Masters in chemistry/biochemistry/biology and 1–3 years’ GLP lab experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field; 1–3 years in a GLP-lab.
- Hands-on experience with bioanalytical sample prep and quantitative LC-MS/MS.
- Knowledge of GLP docs, data integrity and sample handling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Execute study activities: sample prep, extraction, and LC-MS/MS analysis with moderate supervision.
- Perform established bioanalytical methods for regulated studies.
- Process data and prepare summaries for senior review.
- Troubleshoot routine sample prep, assay, or instrument issues and escalate complex problems.
- Maintain accurate documentation per study protocols and SOPs.
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling and chain of custody.
- Support deviations investigations and monitor timelines.
- Keep lab and instruments ready to support study execution.
- Communicate progress and risks to senior staff.
