KCAS Bio, a fast‑growing CRO headquartered in Kansas City, seeks an Associate Scientist to support bioanalytical studies in the Mass Spec Bioanalysis Production group. You will perform sample preparation, LCMS analysis, and data processing with supervision, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GLP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related field with 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience in a GLP-regulated laboratory environment.
• Experience with bioanalytical sample preparation and quantitative LC-MS/MS techniques.
• Working knowledge of chromatographic principles and mass spectrometry.
• Experience executing established bioanalytical methods in support of regulated studies.
• Working knowledge of GLP documentation, data integrity, and sample handling requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine technical issues and escalate when necessary.
• Strong attention to detail within SOP-driven, regulated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned study activities including sample preparation, extraction, and LCMS analysis with moderate supervision.
• Perform established bioanalytical methods in support of regulated studies.
• Perform data processing and prepare data summaries for review by senior scientific staff.
• Troubleshoot routine sample preparation, assay, or instrumentation issues and escalate more complex challenges appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in compliance with study protocols, SOPs and GLP requirements.
• Ensure proper sample identification, handling, tracking, and chain of custody.
• Support investigation and documentation of deviations or unexpected study results as needed.
• Maintain laboratory and instrument readiness to support study execution and timelines.
• Communicate study progress, issues, and potential risks to senior staff.
