Job summary

Azenta Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist I for a Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm EST schedule in South Plainfield, NJ. The role focuses on molecular biology experiments in a regulated lab, performing nucleic acid extractions, PCR/qPCR/dPCR, and Sanger sequencing preparation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent.
1+ year of related lab experience.
Sanger lab experience preferred.
Able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Carry out molecular biology experiments in a regulated laboratory environment.
Carry out sample receiving and help maintain sample storage.
Perform nucleic acid extractions from diverse samples in a Biosafety Level 2 lab.
Perform PCR, qPCR, and dPCR.
Perform DNA purification and prepare Sanger sequencing reactions.
Maintain accurate documentation and records (wet bench).
Work with team leaders to meet customer turnaround times.
Assist with troubleshooting.
Prepare buffers and related solutions.
Routine maintenance of lab equipment.
Maintain lab cleanliness.
Manage inventory of supplies and reagents.
Implement standard protocols for safe lab operations.
Additional tasks as needed.
