This position will be responsible for hands-on development and optimization of methods, products and strategies needed to increase the performance of custom or catalog cell culture medium. Primary job functions include: chemical stock preparation, cell culture media hydration, routine mammalian cell culture techniques, experimental design execution, and presentation of results to the internal project teams. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and creative individual eager to be a part of an active, multidisciplinary group of scientists responsible for the design and development of cell culture products for the Biopharmaceutical Industry.
B.S. in Biological Sciences, Biochemical/Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Material Sciences or equivalent experience in a related technical area.
Competent with Microsoft Office required.
Good understanding of aseptic technique, biology, biochemistry, and/or cellular metabolism.
Mammalian cell/tissue culture techniques including thawing, subculturing, and freezing.
Critical thinking; ability to identify and communicate a problem in order to initiate corrective actions.
Able to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in analytical techniques and method development, experiment design, and statistical analysis.
