Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a hands-on biotechnology professional to prepare and run bench-scale bioreactors and perform mammalian cell culture in aseptic conditions. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bioreactor systems and analytical equipment, while supporting early-stage platform projects and DOE studies.

The role requires a BS in engineering/biochemistry/biology (or related) with 2+ years of industry experience, or an MS with 2-4 years.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and run bench-scale bioreactors and related equipment; perform daily sampling/analytics, cleaning/maintenance, inoculation, run prep, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform mammalian cell culture in an aseptic hood (cell passaging, cell banking).
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bioreactor control systems, software, and analytical equipment; keep lab clean/organized.
  • Support/lead platform client early-stage or technology development projects; assist on PC projects.
  • Design, execute, and analyze DOE experiments with supervision.

Job description

What You'll Do
  • Prepare and run bench-scale bioreactors and related equipment (controllers, pumps, autoclaves); build/autoclave parts/assemblies; perform daily sampling/analytics, cleaning/maintenance, inoculation, run prep, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform mammalian cell culture in an aseptic hood (cell passaging, cell banking).
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bioreactor control systems, software, and analytical equipment; keep lab clean/organized.
  • Support/lead platform client early-stage (FIH) or technology development projects; assist on Process Characterization (PC) projects.
  • Design, execute, and analyze statistically designed experiments (DOE) with supervision.
  • Document results and best practices in ELNs, SOPs, and reports with minimal supervision.
  • Work with vendors to develop, order, and troubleshoot prototypes.
  • Assist with media/buffer preparation as needed.
  • Potential weekend work and on-call for critical runs; other tasks as assigned.

  • DOE/statistical analysis; electronic/paper lab notebooks.
  • Data analysis tools (JMP, R, Python); cell biology/fluid dynamics/biotransport; circuit understanding.
  • cGMP/clean room experience; physical work/positive attitude.
