Job summary

Nova Biomedical in Waltham, MA is seeking an Associate Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team researching sensors, assays, and reagents for clinical analyzers. Under supervision, you will perform lab experiments, collect data, and prepare technical reports.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's or Master’s in Chemistry or related life sciences, 0–2 years of experience, and familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, FT-IR, and LC-MS/MS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
  • 0 to 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in organic synthesis or related scientific field.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, FT-IR, and LC-MS/MS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development activities within assigned areas under general supervision using established methodologies.
  • Support the development of chemical and biological sensors, assays, and reagents for clinical analyzers and instrumentation.
  • Perform laboratory experiments involving organic synthesis and related scientific techniques.
  • Use analytical techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, and Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry to characterize organic compounds.
  • Accurately record, organize, store, summarize, and evaluate experimental information and data.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records in accordance with established documentation practices.
  • Develop laboratory skills and familiarity with equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and raw-data collection.
