Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Biological Materials and Processing Research Team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. The successful candidate will support a multidisciplinary group conducting research on novel biomaterials and biosynthetic approaches for Air Force applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• Academic or research experience with molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
• Familiarity with recombinant protein purification and gel electrophoresis.

Responsibilities

• Support lab research on genes, proteins, and biomaterials.
• Perform established molecular biology and biochemical procedures per protocols.
• Assist with expression, purification, and characterization of recombinant proteins.
• Analyze proteins and nucleic acids using gel electrophoresis and related methods.
• Prepare samples and reagents for experiments.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and organize data.
• Collaborate with scientists from diverse disciplines.
• Follow safety and quality requirements.
