Jewish Family and Children’s Services seeks an Associate Resident Mentor to support residents in daily activities, follow the Participant Program Plan, and help create a safe, engaging living environment under the Residential Manager.

The Disabilities Services program provides comprehensive support for neurodivergent individuals and their families. We offer information, advocacy, care management, counseling, a vibrant social club, and residential support through the Gary Shupin Independent Living Community.
Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, the Associate Resident Mentor supports residents in their daily activities and routines, helping to foster a safe, supportive, and engaging living environment. The Associate Resident Mentor provides direct support and encouragement to residents as they build skills for greater independence.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. The company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
High school diploma or equivalent required
No prior experience working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities required – paid training is provided
Some experience in a caregiving, supportive, or instructional role is preferred (examples include babysitting, assistant teaching, camp counseling, tutoring, coaching, or senior care); experience with adults is not required
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
Eager and willing to learn, with an interest in helping others
Personable, warm, and patient, with the ability to build trusting relationships with residents
Highly skilled in observing, assessing, and responding to clients that may be encountering challenges and difficulties with their daily tasks
