Job description

Associate Property Management Attorney

PURE HomeRiver is seeking an Associate Property Management Attorney who finds satisfaction in working through complex legal questions, understanding the details behind a situation, and using sound legal reasoning to determine the best path forward.

You're the kind of person who wants to understand the facts before reaching a conclusion. When a claim, regulatory question, or operational issue comes your way, you examine the circumstances, research the applicable requirements, evaluate potential risks, and determine what needs to happen next. You're comfortable owning your work, drawing on your legal expertise and working through matters that require careful analysis and judgment.

In this role, you'll report directly to the General Counsel and oversee real estate and property management litigation across the Company's operating jurisdictions. You'll evaluate claims, assess risk and liability, coordinate discovery, oversee outside counsel, and represent the Company in remote ADR proceedings. You'll also work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Operations to address requirements involving Landlord-Tenant Acts, DRE/REC regulation, Fair Housing, HUD/EPA standards, rent control ordinances, and habitability requirements.

You'll also coordinate responses to subpoenas, deposition notices, document demands, formal complaints, and government audits while working with regional teams to gather the information needed for a complete response. In addition, you'll draft and review operational agreements, corporate policies, procedures, corporate filings, and licensing documentation to help ensure our practices remain aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.

If you're the person who wants to understand the issue before deciding how to address it, enjoys solving complicated legal problems and takes pride in producing work that holds up under scrutiny, we'd like to meet you.
