Job summary

The City of Seattle, via Seattle Public Utilities, is seeking an organized Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Management and Controls Division. This entry-level position offers hands-on exposure to water infrastructure projects, permitting, and vendor coordination, reporting to the Project Manager.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or two years of engineering coursework, possess good communication skills, and are prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with a hybrid

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two years of college level coursework in engineering and construction technology (or an equivalent background).
• Two additional years of civil engineering work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Current Washington State driver's license or equivalent mobility.
• Interest in building a career in project management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse professional, cultural, and socio economic backgrounds.
• Ability to take directions from multiple stakeholders and develop a work plan.
• Strong sense of accountability and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to project managers on capital projects.
• Assist with field documentation, permitting, and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to meeting deadlines and accountability.
