Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking an Associate, Organizational Change Management to support the Financial Enterprise Engagement across major transformation initiatives such as Project Horizon, Anaplan IU Finance, and Procurement Transformation.

The role develops and executes change management, training, and communications plans, working with VPCFO and external partners to ensure adoption, governance alignment, and value realization across IU’s campuses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, accounting, data analytics, information systems)
  • MBA or related discipline preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Change management experience in finance, compliance, or audits preferred
  • Experience managing IT implementations in finance preferred
  • Prosci or similar certification preferred

Job Summary

The Associate, Organizational Change Management (FinancialEnterprise Engagement) will support the broader financeorganization supporting change management for multiple projects.The projects include: 1) Project Horizon - the Indiana UniversityFinancial Transformation Initiative to modernize IU's overallfinancial operations and systems to align them with the needs of amulti-billion dollar, public higher education institution withmultiple R1 campuses, 2) Anaplan IU Finance's initiative toimplement a new budgeting software and the associated streamliningof our budgeting processes and reporting and 3) ProcurementTransformation the initiative to take key findings from ourprocurement review to support the implementation. These projectswill help modernize Indiana University's financial process,structure, and systems to strengthen the financial health of IU nowand in the future. This position is housed within the VPCFOorganization and reports directly to the Associate Vice Presidentof Financial Enterprise Engagement.

Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Designs and executes end-to-end change management strategiesguiding stakeholders through awareness, adoption, and long-termownership to drive cultural alignment across transformationinitiatives.
  • In partnership with VPCFO Communications, UCM, and externalconsultants, create tailored communication plans, leadershiptalking points, and messaging that clearly articulate the scope,technology shifts, and business rationale (the What and Why) behindproject goals.
  • Conducts stakeholder impact assessments to identify risks,manage resistance, and build strong working relationships acrossIndiana University campuses and central administrative units.
  • Develops and delivers targeted training programs that equipcampus users to comfortably navigate new platforms, tools, andprocesses.
  • Facilitates project committees, working groups, and externalvendor interactions to ensure cross-functional alignment, securebuy-in, and navigate institutional governance workflows.
  • Defines project scope, goals, and key deliverables whileproviding regular status, governance, and decision-making updatesto the Core Team and Executive Management.
General Responsibilities
  • Manages large projects of the most complex nature, from startto finish, ensuring on time completion within budget.
  • Analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics andshortfalls.
  • Communicates ongoing changes in tasks, goals, or performance;supervises and trains project staff as needed.
  • Develops and maintains project schedules, goals, andcommunication.
  • Matrix manages teams to develop, evaluate, and revise projectprocesses.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that projectobjectives are achieved within established time frames.
  • Participates in client meetings, contract finalization, anddevelopment of requirements and specifications.
  • Provides guidance and support to less experienced peers.
Education
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (preferably in finance,accounting, data analytics, information systems or relatedfield)

  • Advanced degree (MBA, or related discipline)
Work Experience
Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience
    Preferred
    • 5 years Organization Change Management field experience,finance, compliance, audit, operational planning, or relatedexperience
    • Proven excellence in organizational change management
    • Higher education, public sector, or governmental organizationexperience strongly preferred
    • Experience managing IT implementation, ideally in a financefunction.

    Working Conditions / Demands

    This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus.     $115,000 - $125,000 annually, depending upon qualifications
