Job summary

Performance Contracting is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to join our Madison 574 operations in Sun Prairie. This safety-sensitive, entry-to-lead role offers hands-on experience in project management and estimating, with a clear path for growth within our employee-owned organization.

Responsibilities include safety meetings, punch list management, QA/QC support, RFIs/submittals, labor control, takeoffs, and scheduling support. Travel may be required based on projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Team player with strong work ethic and initiative.

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee-owned organization as an Associate Project Engineer for its Madison 574operations based in Sun Prairie.

The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launching pad for future leaders within PCI. It's a dynamic position offering hands‑on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.

Job responsibilities include:

• Conducting safety meetings


• Creating and managing punch lists


• Supporting the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI’s QA/QC program


• Preparing RFI’s and submittals


• Labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance


• Quantitative takeoffs for material ordering


• Supporting the implementation of the job schedule


• Coordinating warranties and O&M’s


• Material coordination with purchase orders and invoicing

Salary range: $72,600-$77,600 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety-sensitive.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Basic Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)


• A clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment


• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught
