Job summary

Performance Contracting Group in Austin, TX is seeking an entry-level Associate Project Engineer for PCI Austin 549. This hands-on role serves as a launchpad for future leaders, offering exposure to project management and estimating within our employee-owned organization.

You will participate in safety meetings, create and manage punch lists, assist in QA/QC, prepare RFIs and submittals, coordinate with purchasing and invoicing, and help maintain schedules and warranties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to learn new technical skills and apply them.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety meetings and manage punch lists.
  • Support QA/QC measures and prepare RFIs/submittals.
  • Assist with labor control, material takeoffs, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate warranties and O&M with purchasing and invoicing.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee-owned organization as an entry-level Associate Project Engineer for its PCI Austin 549 operations based in Austin, TX.

The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launching pad for future leaders within PCI. It's a dynamic position offering hands-on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Conducting safety meetings
  • Creating and managing punch lists
  • Supporting the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI's QA/QC program
  • Preparing RFI's and submittals
  • Labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
  • Quantitative takeoffs for material ordering
  • Supporting the implementation of the job schedule
  • Coordinating warranties and O&M's
  • Material coordination with purchase orders and invoicing

This position is safety-sensitive.

Pay Range: $76,400 - $81,400

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Basic Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught
  • Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
  • Must have critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
