Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an entry-level Associate Project Engineer for its PCI Salt Lake City operations in Salt Lake City, UT. This launching pad role offers hands-on experience in project management and estimating, with growth opportunities in a fast-paced, employee-owned company.

Responsibilities include safety meetings, punch lists, QA/QC support, RFIs, labor control, takeoffs, scheduling, warranties, and material coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and apply them on the job.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety meetings and maintain a safety-first mindset.
  • Create and manage punch lists for projects.
  • Support PCI's QA/QC program and processes.
  • Prepare RFIs and submittals for approvals.
  • Labor control on assigned projects including setup and upkeep.
  • Quantitative takeoffs for material ordering.
  • Assist in implementing and updating the project schedule.
  • Coordinate warranties and operation manuals (WOs).
  • Coordinate material ordering with purchase orders and invoicing.

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee‑owned organization as an entry‑level Associate Project Engineer for its PCI Salt Lake City operations based in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launching pad for future leaders within PCI. It's a dynamic position offering hands‑on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting safety meetings
  • Creating and managing punch lists
  • Supporting the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI’s QA/QC program
  • Preparing RFIs and submittals
  • Labor control on assigned projects, including set‑up and maintenance

Basic Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience
