Job Summary: IACMI – The Composites Institute is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Project Coordinator to support our national workforce program Metallurgical Engineering and Trades Apprenticeship and Learning (METAL) (casting and forging). In this role, you will help keep milestones on track, coordinate events and training sessions, and ensure the accuracy of data for dashboards and reports. This is a launchpad role for a career in program management and workforce development.
IACMI is headquartered in Knoxville, TN. This is a remote position requiring individuals to work independently and on a team in a virtual environment. This position, reporting to the Program Manager, requires travel with overnight stays approximately 15% of the time, including quarterly in-person meetings at our headquarters in Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with work plans, timelines, and task tracking across multiple programs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes and procedures of the programs.
- Maintain accurate records and project documentation across Excel, Canvas LMS, Salesforce/Pardot, Monday.com, SurveyMonkey, Credly, and related tools, ensuring compliance with program and funding requirements.
- Enter and QA participation metrics and outcomes; keep dashboards current for internal and DoW reporting.
- Coordinate communication between IACMI, industry partners, educational institutions, and stakeholders.
- Build simple reports and slide summaries that highlight impact and lessons learned.
- Capture feedback from participants and partners and recommend process improvements and innovations.
- Plan and coordinate workshops, site visits, conferences, and stakeholder meetings; represent IACMI at events to ensure positive participant experiences.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Support workforce programs and events as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant coursework, certifications, internships, or volunteer experience are welcome.
- Demonstrated planning, organization, and time management skillset.
- Collaborates well on a project team and communicates clearly with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing is beneficial but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365; quick to learn tools like Monday.com, Canvas, Salesforce/Pardot, SurveyMonkey, Credly, and event platforms.
- Valid US driver’s license required.
- Ability to move around freely, lift at least 25 lbs., and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, with overnight stays.
