Job summary

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University seeks a 9-month, tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Criminal Justice at the rank of associate professor or professor. You will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, and participate in thesis/dissertation work, while contributing to research and program development.

The position requires a Ph.D. or terminal degree and a record of strong teaching, scholarship, and service.

Qualifications

• The candidate must possess an established record of strong teaching in undergraduate and graduate level courses.
• Ability to publish in professional/peer‑reviewed journals and present research at conferences.
• Commitment to mentoring students and collaborating with colleagues to advance the department’s research and external funding efforts.

Responsibilities

• Teach an approved curriculum of introductory and advanced-level courses, including graduate courses.
• Advise and mentor students; maintain and report grades and attendance; support student progress.
• Participate in retention initiatives, serve on thesis/dissertation committees, and pursue external funding opportunities.
• Engage in research, curriculum development, and service to the department, college, and university as needed.
