Job Description Summary

PCOM South Georgia is seeking a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Physiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. PCOM is committed to preparing professionals for the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. Faculty members develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career, and personal advising, and all faculty contribute to the PCOM’s mission through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution. Uniquely, PCOM South Georgia emphasizes the importance of rural healthcare and the impact our students can have while practicing medicine amongst underserved populations. PCOM’s South Georgia campus features a new, modern campus equipped with a state-of-the-art simulation center. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following
  • Educate medical students in physiology across a two-year preclinical curriculum.
  • Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Education: A Ph.D. in Physiology (or related field) is required.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of teaching experience is required, preferably in a medical school.
  • Experience in teaching physiology is required.
  • Experience in active learning is preferred.
  • Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.
  • Open to non-traditional research.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role.

Salary Information

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
