The 01 Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking an Assistant/Associate Pharmacology Faculty member to educate Osteopathic medical students in pharmacology. About the Position

PCOM South Georgia seeks a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Pharmacology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Faculty members develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career, and personal advising, and all faculty contribute to the PCOM’s mission through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution. PCOM South Georgia emphasizes the importance of rural healthcare and the impact of students in underserved populations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Educate medical students in pharmacology across a two‑year preclinical curriculum with a primary focus on chemotherapeutic agents including anti‑infectives and antineoplastics.
  • Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge.
  • Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience, preferably in a medical school.
  • Experience in teaching pharmacology.
  • Experience in active learning (preferred).
  • Experience in a collaborative approach to education (preferred).
  • Open to non‑traditional research.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • A Ph.D. in Pharmacology (or related field) or Pharm.D. degree.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role. Salary range is based on PCOM good‑faith belief at the time of posting and may vary based on geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
