Responsibilities

  • Educate medical students in physiology across a two-year preclinical curriculum.
  • Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning; communicate evaluations to students and faculty as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

PCOM South Georgia is seeking a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Physiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. PCOM is committed to preparing professionals for the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Educate medical students in physiology across a two-year preclinical curriculum.
  • Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

*Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Education:
  • A Ph.D. in Physiology (or related field) is required.
Experience:
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience is required, preferably in a medical school.
  • Experience in teaching physiology is required.
  • Experience in active learning is preferred.
  • Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.
  • Open to non-traditional research.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role.

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
