Job summary

Reynolds Community College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Associate Professor - Accounting in the School of Business, Humanities and Public Service. This full-time, nine-month faculty-ranked appointment will be based at the Parham Road Campus in Richmond, Virginia.

The successful candidate will teach Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, Federal Taxation, and Cost Accounting, using multiple modalities and instructional technologies, and participate in

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting.
• Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience and/or college-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use instructional technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in multiple modalities, including online (asynchronous and synchronous) and in-person.
• Proven teaching pedagogy that supports multi-cultural populations and promotes diversity, cultural understanding, and inclusion.

Additional Considerations:

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, or CIA.
• Industry experience with a national and/or large regional accounting firm.
• Experience with or knowledge of data analytics.
• Ability to teach college-level Accounting courses including:

  • Federal Taxation
  • Cost Accounting
• Experience in curriculum development, distance learning, and/or course development.
• Strong subject matter expertise in accounting.
