Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and three years of progressively responsible professional experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in California is required or up to 18 months to obtain registration as a condition of employment.
• Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and coordinate Public Works or Water Department engineering projects and programs.
• Supervise staff and coordinate with consultants, City departments and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare grant applications, permits, and contract documents; monitor project budgets and schedules.
• Inspect projects, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with codes and MOUs.
