Provost & Pritchard is seeking associate and senior civil engineers with a range of experience in water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure for public agencies and private developers. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build client relationships while working in multidisciplinary teams are essential.

Candidates should have experience in feasibility studies, design, and construction projects and be able to apply civil engineering knowledge practically.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on fluid mechanics, water treatment/supply, hydraulic machines, soil mechanics, or related courses of study.
  • 5 years of experience working on engineering studies, investigations, and designs for municipal infrastructure, delivering positive results for clients.
  • 10 years of experience leading and directing work teams in studies, investigations, and designs delivering positive results for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Understand water resources engineering and apply knowledge practically.
  • Interest and experience in water sustainability studies, surface water conveyance, MAR/ASR, water conservation, irrigation district operations, groundwater management, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with project funding, grants, water transfers and exchanges, and feasibility studies.
  • Work on public works construction contracts and project planning/design.

Job description

Summary

Provost & Pritchard is offering opportunities for associate and senior civil engineers with a diversity of experience working in water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure projects for public agencies and private developers. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and work closely with clients, and work in multidisciplinary project design teams. Candidates will have experience working on feasibility study, design, and construction projects with the ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment. Bilingual in Spanish is not required but is a plus.

Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of civil engineering design for municipal infrastructure projects and be able to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. We work on a variety of development projects ranging from residential communities to recreational facilities to heavy industrial developments. We work with a diverse group of private clients and public agencies. Serious candidates must have an interest and/or experience in areas such as:

  • Feasibility Studies
  • Urban Water Planning
  • New/Replacement Infrastructure
  • Project Planning and Design
  • Project Funding Assistance Applications
  • Water and/or Sewer System
Duties

Candidates must show an understanding of water resources engineering and be able to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. Serious candidates must have an understanding, interest, and experience in areas such as:

  • Water Sustainability Studies and Solutions

  • Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) and Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR)
  • Water Conservation
  • Irrigation District Operations

Qualifications

For Associate level candidates:

  • Must hold an active California PE license or licensed in another state and be willing to sit for CA license within 6 months of hire
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with emphasis on fluid mechanics, water treatment/supply, hydraulic machines, soil mechanics, or related courses of study
  • 5 years of experience working on engineering studies, investigations, and designs for municipal infrastructure, delivering positive results for clients
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

For Senior level candidates:

  • Must hold an active California PE license or licensed in another state and be willing to sit for CA license within 6 months of hire
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with emphasis on fluid mechanics, water treatment/supply, hydraulic machines, soil mechanics, or related courses of study
  • 10 years of experience leading and directing work teams in studies, investigations, and designs delivering positive results for clients
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects
  • Have a general understanding of infrastructure construction techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
