Reporting directly to the Product Manager, you as an Associate Product Manager - UL Fuses will be responsible for managing assigned product lines throughout the entire product life cycle, working closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and other support functions to ensure customer requirements are met. You will monitor and support revenue and profitability goals for assigned product lines while ensuring alignment with the Energy & Industrial Infrastructure Business Unit strategy.
About the Job:
- Manage assigned product lines throughout the entire product life cycle, ensuring alignment with business strategy, customer requirements, and profitability objectives.
- Define pricing for assigned products to support revenue and profitability goals.
- Review product line performance and define and implement actions to drive top-line growth and improve product margins.
- Support product rationalization initiatives based on profitability, product strategy, and supplier strategy.
- Work with Sales and customers to assess future demand forecasts and provide input to Operations for capacity and demand management.
- Support safety stock requirements and manage inventory obsolescence as needed.
- Coordinate product change requests and ensure implementation according to required processes, including customer notifications and response tracking.
- Support the Product Manager with P & L reviews and follow up on actions to improve product margins.
- Support Sales activities, including customer visits, lunch & learns, presentations, trade shows, technology forums, and other customer-facing events.
- Research and track high-potential project opportunities in collaboration with Sales.
- Support Sales in responding to quotes and requests for proposals.
- Provide second-level product support to customers and address product-related questions by collaborating with Sales, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
- Drive the development of new products and product revisions in alignment with the Product Roadmap and company strategy.
- Identify customer needs, market opportunities, and product capabilities to develop product requirements and support the product development process.
- Work with Sales, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure new products have the required product support materials, prototypes, early samples, and documentation for successful launch.
- Support and participate in the sales release process to ensure timely product launches.
- Drive cost reduction and local sourcing initiatives to improve product line profitability.
- Contribute to product line strategy development and execution.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and execution of product roadmaps and other product management tools.
- Assist with the development of internal and external product training programs.
- Provide product support at tradeshows, workshops, and technical standards associations.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or another quantitative or technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, technical, or technical sales roles.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with a strong ability to understand and respond to customer requirements.
- Experience in electrical, industrial distribution, and/or electrical OEM industries preferred.
- Strong understanding of product management, product life cycle, pricing, forecasting, and profitability concepts.
- Experience supporting new product development, product launches, and product revisions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret product, financial, market, and customer data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; SAP experience preferr
