Job summary

The CNN Sports desk is seeking a versatile editorial producer to edit sports highlights, craft video for air, and support newsgathering across domestic and international programming.

You will create graphics, research stories, identify credible sources, and collaborate with production teams while meeting tight editorial and production standards in a fast-paced news environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree preferred
• Knowledge of domestic and international sports
• Non-linear editing experience
• Familiarity with INEWS and Outlook
• Good understanding of sports in a news environment
• Basic news writing skills
• Ability to work well under deadline pressure
• Knowledge of how to research a story
• Understanding of what constitutes a credible source
• Working knowledge of CNN's proxy edit, media source, and archive library

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day editorial and production needs of the CNN Sports desk

• Create graphics and other visual elements for sports coverage across CNN platforms and programming
• Collaborate with CNN Sports, news producers, production teams, and other partners across domestic and international programming
• Manage assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced news environment while maintaining editorial accuracy and production standards
• Potentially produce sports cut-ins, including writing scripts, creating production elements, and supporting show execution
