Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Dallas, TX is seeking an Associate Process Technician for the C100 Subs. The role operates manufacturing reactors and supports engineers to grow materials and assemble complex optical/electronic units.

Candidates must show strong decision-making, handle small components with ESD practices, and have chemistry safety experience, plus familiarity with Access, Excel and Labview. A background with Soldering and Wire Bonding is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing, material growth reactors and process equipment to conduct complex experiments or grow materials.
  • Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on components, devices, materials, products, processes and/or equipment.
  • Test, modify, rework, repair, and build electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies.
  • Work from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specs and sketches.
  • Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units.
  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret and follow SOPs and safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and certifications.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials.
  • Perform KPIs: finish good quality, raw material stock levels, compliance outcomes.
  • Coordinate several activities simultaneously and reprioritize as conditions change.
  • Read and possibly develop wiring diagrams and specs for modifications or expansions, directing routine installation and maintenance.
  • Support and reinforce the mission, values, and culture of the organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate various types of manufacturing, material growth reactors and or process equipment to conduct complex experiments or to grow custom materials
  • Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
  • Responsibilities may include testing, modifying, reworking, repairing, and building electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies.
  • Work from standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
  • Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units
  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
  • Perform Key Performance Indicators:
  • Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates)
  • Raw material stock levels
  • Compliance outcomes
  • Position requires the ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions
  • Ability to read, and possibly develop, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
