Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN during the night shift. You will assist with basic care, safety, and maintaining a clean, orderly environment while supporting patient and family satisfaction.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am. Requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS, CPI training within 90 days for psychiatric unit, and less than one year of experience.

Qualifications

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
