UF Health Shands Homecare is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on safe, patient-centered care and maintaining a clean, orderly environment while delivering service excellence to patients and families.

The PCA will work full-time, 36 hours per week, with shift from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and will participate in ongoing training to uphold Basic Life Support standards and unit-specific

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to learn and use hospital computer systems.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.

Job Description

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
