Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to deliver direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCA helps provide safe, patient-centered care while maintaining a clean, orderly environment and exemplifying service excellence to promote satisfaction for patients and families.

This full-time role runs 11:00am–7:30pm, Monday–Friday. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with BLS certification; Crisis Prevention

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
